Runyu Qian is a fusion singer-songwriter who blends traditional Chinese music with contemporary styles. A graduate of Berklee College of Music with a focus on Electronic Production and Design, her work uniquely combines R&B, Pop, EDM, and Chinese folk music. Her debut album FUSS!ON, intricately weaves Chinese traditional ethnic instruments into western music, earning critical acclaim.
Runyu performed her original MINE with Shen Zhou on the popular Chinese show Melody Journey. Additionally, Runyu has worked with Aurora and Grammy-winning producer Jay Centry, further expanding her approach to music creation. With a distinctive talent and perspective on music creation. Runyu Qian boldly bridges classical and modern, Eastern and Western influences, and has progressively established herself as a versatile artist. Runyu has also worked with major international brands.
She was the Ambassador for Apple Music Dolby Atmos Audio in Mainland China and has composed and performed theme songs for BYD and Lancôme. Runyu embarked on her first national tour in November 2024, with performances in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Recently, Runyu delivered three successful performances at SXSW2025 in Austin, US. Her unique fusion of the Chinese pipa with modern music caught the attention of Billboard, leading to an interview and featuring her on their official social media.
